Stagecraft is for students in grades 6-8 to learn about technical theater. They will learn the fundamentals and structure of theater, what goes into producing a play or musical, design, and implementation. Technical theater includes units in theater hierarchy, theater safety, set design, costumes, props, hair/makeup, theater marketing, stage management, lighting, sound, and producing. Stagecraft requires students to act responsibly and safely. If a students does not follow safety guidelines and rules, their independent activities in stagecraft will be limited.

Stagecraft students are trained to work on after school productions, but working on them is voluntary. Benton students not in stagecraft are allowed to tech after school productions, however those with any interest are encouraged to take stagecraft.
Stagecraft is for students in grades 6-8 and is repeatable. Students repeating the class are encouraged to act as leaders and role models for newer students.
